Joe Biden Announces Presidential Memoir
Former President Joe Biden is set to release a memoir titled “Promise Me, America.” The book, which is scheduled to be published by Little, Brown and Company on November 17, 2026, aims to provide insights into his presidency.
In a video message shared recently, the 83-year-old Biden explained that the memoir will detail the challenges he encountered during his time in office and the reasons behind his decisions. Rather than trying to defend his record against negative opinions, he sees this as a chance to clarify “the decisions I made and why.”
The memoir is expected to cover significant events from his presidency, including his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, economic policies, the January 6 Capitol riots, the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and foreign policy matters involving Ukraine.
Additionally, the book will explore his motivations for running for a second term and the personal reasons that ultimately led him to step back from the 2024 race.
Biden emphasized, “This is about the challenges we face as a country, the decisions I made and why I made them.” He reflected on leading the nation during the pandemic, rebuilding the economy, and supporting Ukraine, saying, “It’s about why I chose to run for re-election and why I chose to step down.”
He added, “Above all, it’s about my faith in America’s promise… I hope you will read it and strengthen your faith in what we are capable of as a nation and as a people.”
After the announcement, criticism emerged online, with some questioning whether Biden actually penned the memoir himself. Comments on social media included skepticism about his authorship, with one influencer asking, “Can we really believe this guy wrote an entire book?” and another posing if it was done using an autopen.
Speculation about Biden’s memoir has been circulating for over a year, and he has mentioned it during public speeches. After serving as vice president alongside Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017, Biden became one of the 46 individuals to hold the presidency, navigating through two non-consecutive terms under Trump.
