Biden undergoes root canal after tooth pain, doctor announces

President Biden is undergoing root canal treatment at the White House on Monday after complaining of a toothache, his doctor said in a letter released to the public.

Biden’s dental team examined him on Sunday and gave him an X-ray after the president said he was having pain in one of his teeth, according to presidential physician Kevin O’Connor.

O’Connor added that the dental team determined that a root canal was needed to address the issue, and performed the first procedure Sunday at the White House.

“The president tolerated the procedure well. There were no complications,” O’Connor said.

“He’s in more discomfort this morning, which was expected,” O’Connor continued, adding that Biden will complete a root canal at the White House on Monday.

Biden will no longer attend College Athletes Day at the White House, which was scheduled to be attended by various college champions. Vice President Harris will host the event on behalf of Biden, along with Vice President Doug Emhoff.
