Tara Reade’s Allegations Against Joe Biden: A Legal Journey
Tara Reade, who worked as a staff assistant in Joe Biden’s office in 1993, alleges that Biden sexually assaulted her. Reade states that she attempted to file a formal complaint with the Congressional Personnel Office, but no record of this complaint has been found to date.
According to Reade, following the alleged incident, she was sidelined in her duties and experienced mistreatment, with all her efforts to seek assistance falling flat.
When Biden campaigned for the presidency in 2020, Reade filed a police report in Washington, D.C., but the case could not proceed because the incident fell outside the statute of limitations. She sought aid from the nonprofit Time’s Up, an organization dedicated to supporting victims of sexual harassment and assault, but her request was declined. This was particularly difficult given the organization’s ties to Anita Dunn, a significant advisor to Biden.
Reade has expressed feeling overwhelmed by various threats and false accusations related to her advocacy. In 2020, a grand jury requested her Twitter records, while her bank account suffered damage. Additionally, a FedEx package containing the manuscript of her memoir detailing her experiences went missing.
Fearing for her safety, Reade sought asylum in Russia in 2023. Although Biden’s presidency has ended, she remains in Russia, concerned about potential retaliation from the Biden family.
In 2024, Reade initiated a $10 million tort claim against the Department of Justice, alleging that it targeted her due to the publication of her claims. By February of this year, she had increased the amount being claimed to $100 million.
In a recent appearance on “Sara Gonzalez Not Filtered,” Reade shared insights into her legal challenges, including her decision to amend the lawsuit to include Jill and Hunter Biden.
When Biden faced accusations from Reade in 2020, he described the situation as “confusing” and appeared to struggle with his denial. Reade reflects that she is uncertain about how to interpret his behavior during that time.
By 2023, many observers noted a significant decline in Biden’s mental acuity, which led Reade to assert that her amendments to the lawsuit were warranted as Hunter and Jill Biden were seemingly operating outside their roles.
Reade described them as essentially acting in presidential capacities without the democratic legitimacy necessary for such roles, rendering them liable in her lawsuit. “This is the first case aimed at holding this administration accountable,” she stated.
Moreover, Reade believes that the influence behind Biden transcends just Hunter and Jill, suggesting a broader network is at play.
She issued a cautionary note about the presence of “Democrat elite cabals” poised to act during the next election cycle, identifying prominent figures like Gavin Newsom, Pete Buttigieg, and Barack Obama as potential players.
Reade reflected on her treatment as indicative of a broader pattern of aggression against many Americans under the Biden administration, facilitated by the FBI and the DOJ. She is hopeful that there will be opportunities for whistleblowers to testify about abuse and corruption. “I want to share my experiences of Biden’s wrongdoing and the attempts to conceal the truth,” she said.
