House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Immigration Subcommittee Chairman Tom McClintock (R-Calif.) have filed charges against President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for assault. They are demanding the release of all details about the indicted Venezuelan illegal immigrant José Antonio Ibarra. Laken Riley, 22, has passed away.
Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old illegal immigrant from Venezuela, is accused of kidnapping and killing Laken Riley, a nursing student at Augusta University, who was out for a morning jog near the University of Georgia campus in Athens on February 22. was arrested and charged.
According to NewsNation, Riley used the apartment complex where Ybarra lived as part of a shortcut route for his morning jog. Ibarra’s neighbors said the illegal alien knew her schedule and may have been stalking her beforehand.

Lawmakers are asking Mayorkas to respond with information about Ibarra by March 12 at the latest.
House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Greene (R-Tenn.) asking Mayorkas has until March 11 to provide similar information about Ybarra, including all internal DHS communications that mention illegal aliens and Riley’s murder.
“This tragedy further highlights the committee’s serious concerns about our nation’s security and the potential for foreign criminals to take advantage of the obvious vulnerabilities created by the Biden administration’s open borders policy,” Green said. he writes.

ICE officials said Ybarra first arrived at the U.S.-Mexico border near El Paso, Texas, in September 2022 and was quickly released into the interior of the country by DHS. In August 2023, Ybarra was arrested in New York City on suspicion of causing injury to a child and violating motor vehicle regulations.
Thanks to New York City’s custody policy, Ybarra was released before ICE agents could request custody through a detainer.
Georgia Congressman Houston Gaines (R) has since revealed Ybarra was arrested in October 2023 on suspicion of shoplifting at a Walmart in Athens. Because he failed to appear in court, a bench warrant was issued for him in December 2023.
