Audio of Biden’s Interview Sparks Discussion

During a segment on CNN’s “The Lead” aired on Friday, senior judicial correspondent Evan Pérez discussed the audio from President Joe Biden’s interview with special advisor Robert Hurr. This has raised questions about whether Biden’s difficulties in the interview stem from fatigue or a decline in his abilities.

Pérez noted, “They don’t want to release this before the election, and to be honest, that’s really true,” acknowledging host Jake Tupper’s point that Biden’s decline has notably worsened in 2023.

He added, “One important thing to consider is the context of this interview. He participated right after Hamas’s attack in Israel back in October. It was crucial for him to do several hours of interviews during that time, and I think that’s a major takeaway or question people might have after listening to the audio.”
