Biden’s DOJ greenlit Big Pharma bailouts. Will Trump do the same?

Through the administration of former President Joe Biden, the Justice Department repeatedly Relied Subsidies like Moderna were subsidized through various institutions. Established A type of “worst type of corporate welfare.”

But some hope that this undesirable precedent will be uprooted by a new cabinet and Congress of change agents at the dawn of President Donald Trump's new administration.

“For a long time I have opposed Big Pharma's deep-rooted strength and the comfortable relationship with the government.”

On the hill there is certainly an expressed appetite for reform. Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee and Texas' Ted Cruz are at the forefront of fighting corruption against the “chronism” of the Biden administration.

“Joe Biden's Justice Department wanted to put hardworking American families on the hook for a patent violation in Moderna,” Lee told Blaze News. “For American taxpayers and entrepreneurs, the Trump administration should reject the chronism of his predecessor and force the big pharmaceutical company to pay its own mistake.”

Like Lee, Cruz shared concerns about the “comfortable relationship” between the pharmaceutical industry and the government, pointing to various laws that he has worked to prevent further corruption.

“I have long opposed Big Pharma's persistent power and a comfortable relationship with the government,” Cruz told Blaze News. “I am the original co-sponsor of the right to test the laws that President Trump signed, and I have been working on the outcomes law for a long time.

Cruz also expressed optimism about Trump's coming cabinet, noting in particular Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was appointed head of the Department of Health and Human Services. In particular, the Senate proceeded with Kennedy's nomination on Wednesday, teeing him later this week for a confirmation vote.

“When RFK becomes HHS's secretary, I look forward to his leadership fighting corruption, expanding consumer choices and increasing transparency.”

Both Cruz and Lee are sitting on the Senate Judiciary Committee and will address bipartisan concerns about large-scale pharmaceutical relief in the future.

“I wouldn't be surprised if this issue came up before the Judiciary Committee,” a senior Republican aide told Blaze News. “There are both Democrats and Republicans in Congress that are involved in the impact of this incident.”
