Hunter Biden has been claiming for nearly four years that his laptop was stolen, that it wasn’t really his, or that it contained disinformation he believed was planted by nasty Russians. Take your pick.
There was no evidence to support these claims. Absolutely not. He simply made them up.
Hunter’s elaborate deception was finally exposed in court this week when the first witness took the stand in his firearms-related federal trial in Delaware. FBI Special Agent Erica Jensen was handed a MacBook Pro 13 and confirmed its serial number as belonging to President Joe Biden’s son.

She explained that forensic analysis determined that the device had not been tampered with and that all the material stored on it – emails, text messages, photos and tons of documents – was original and authentic, all of which was corroborated by Hunter’s subpoenaed Apple iCloud account.

In other words, the US government, which was once a party to the lie, has belatedly admitted to it. It is about time.
The FBI seized the laptop in December 2019, 11 months before the 2020 presidential election. The computer was self-authenticating, so the FBI knew it was real right away, and the records it contained were corroborated by people who had sent and received communications with Hunter Biden.
Not only did the FBI actively suppress and remain silent about the truth, but they also pressured social media companies to censor the New York Post’s story when it first broke the story a few weeks before the election. Facebook and Twitter quickly suppressed the story and blocked access to people who tried to share it online. Both companies locked down the accounts of then-President Donald Trump.
At the same time, Joe Biden’s media minions doubled down on the lie, running endless stories about the laptop being a hoax concocted by Moscow to discredit Biden and help his opponent get re-elected. Nearly every major TV network and newspaper claimed the laptop had been thoroughly exposed, when in fact it wasn’t. And they knew it.
Journalists didn’t try to verify anything independently. They didn’t want to. Instead, they blindly supported the hoax that it was fake. This is the worst example of media malfeasance since the infamous Russia Hoax, which convinced the American people that Trump conspired with Vladimir Putin deep in the Kremlin to steal the 2016 election.
After Biden was sworn in as the new president, the media finally came clean and admitted the authenticity of the laptop. There were no apologies or admissions of wrongdoing; they simply acknowledged that the device was accurate. Few media outlets revealed that the results were so damaging that Biden might have lost his shot at the White House if voters had known the truth before voting.
Polling data suggests the outcome would have been different if the laptop story hadn’t been misreported and covered up.
Joe Biden was aware of the inflammatory nature of this material, so he unashamedly embraced the lie about the laptop during the second and final presidential debate with President Trump on October 22, 2020. “Fifty former national intelligence officers told me what he’s accusing me of being a Russian spy,” an outraged Biden declared, calling his son’s computer a “hunk of garbage.”
This means that the US government, which once lied, has belatedly admitted to that lie. It’s about time.
This striking statement was itself an elaborate lie based on an elaborate pretense. Three days earlier, 51 former intelligence officials had signed and published an infamous letter suggesting that the apparatus bore all the hallmarks of a Russian disinformation operation. They had no legitimate basis or actionable intelligence to back up such wild speculation. But that was irrelevant. Their immediate objective was to peddle a lie and unfairly influence the election.
Much later, top intelligence official and former acting CIA director Michael Morell confessed at a congressional hearing in 2023 that the letter was initiated by a phone call from a Biden operative. That person’s name was Anthony Blinken, who went on to hold the high-ranking position of Secretary of State. Naturally, he denies it to this day.
Why were the Bidens and their cronies so desperate to hide the laptop from the American public? It wasn’t because it contained evidence that could be used against Hunter on future federal firearms charges. Something far more harmful and devastating was at stake.
Hidden on the computer was shocking evidence that the father played a key role in his son’s massive bribe scheme that siphoned tens of millions of dollars from many of our nation’s adversaries. The bribes were routed through nearly 20 shell companies to hide their origins, and some were distributed to Biden family members.
The fact that Joe and Hunter were selling promises of access to and future influence over former President Biden to Russia, Ukraine, China, Romania, Kazakhstan and other countries could make this the largest public corruption scandal in U.S. history.
So why haven’t there been any charges filed under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the Foreign Agents Registration Act, or even the US bribery and conspiracy laws? An IRS whistleblower has provided a startling answer with compelling evidence: Biden’s Justice Department has thwarted all attempts to prosecute these serious crimes. The investigations were effectively halted to protect Joe Biden and Hunter Biden.

It’s ironic that the laptop has now emerged as a central issue in Hunter’s trial over whether he lied on federal forms about his illegal drug use when he bought his firearm in 2018. Of all the possible scenarios involving criminal risk, this was the most unexpected.
But sometimes, little things can trip you up.

Suffice it to say, Hunter may still be able to escape liability. To be sure, the evidence against him in the Delaware courts is overwhelming. His defense that he did not knowingly lie because he denied the poisoning is patently absurd. But unlike Trump’s recent New York trial, he is not facing a hostile jury in Wilmington. Quite the opposite.
This is the Biden family’s home base, their fiefdom. They pretty much own the state. So a friendly jury might ignore the laptop evidence implicating Hunter and reject all witness testimony that would otherwise lead to an instant conviction.
The defense knows this, which is why they have devised a dual legal strategy of sympathy for recovering drug addicts and of getting the jury to acquit. The latter relies on the implied authority of 12 individuals to ignore oath, and to ignore both the evidence and the statute to argue for an acquittal, simply because they want to.
Ignoring the law taints jurors’ sacred duty to perform their duty impartially. Although the U.S. Supreme Court has said that jurors have no right to defy the law when reaching a verdict, secrecy of the verdict gives jurors protection and freedom to do as they please.

Whatever the outcome, at least one striking truth emerged from the trial: the laptop was real all along, not Russian disinformation.
There is no way Joe Biden or Hunter Biden would admit to their brazen lies.
