On CNN’s “The Lead” broadcast Friday, Biden 2024 Advisory Committee member Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) said President Joe Biden has refused to give a Super Bowl interview with CBS. He said he is not afraid to respond. “Hectic schedule”, “held a prime-time press conference” the night before, and “did a lot of interviews. We will continue to be active all over the country.”
Host Jake Tapper asked, “So what do you think about President Biden? Whether he’s as impressive behind the scenes as you say, and I’ve spoken off-the-record with reporters, but I… “I think he is,” he asked. He has aged a lot since I started interviewing him in 2000. But I get your point. He doesn’t look the way he is caricatured on, say, FOX, but he certainly shows his age. In some works he certainly shows his age. instance. Do you think he needs to be more visible so people can see? For example, he hasn’t done the traditional Super Bowl interview with the network hosting the Super Bowl (this year it’s CBS). I understand he didn’t do that at Fox last year. This year it’s CBS, but he won’t do that. That would send a signal to people what he is afraid of when doing that interview. ”
Garcia replied: “He’s not afraid of anything. First, the president has a busy schedule, but who cares if he doesn’t participate in a Super Bowl interview? He held a prime-time press conference yesterday. During the day, he speaks with House Democrats, travels the country, and works on legislation. There are multiple international conflicts occurring around the world. He’s done a lot of interviews based on the idea that he’s crazy about whether or not he’s going to continue to be active all over the country. And he’s an active, busy, bright person. And , I think that’s the important thing. And I think it’s important to actually look at the track record and the results of the Biden-Harris administration. There’s a lot of that. And that’s really the focus. Adjusting the president’s schedule. I don’t think it’s our job to figure out what the president will or won’t do. And I’m glad he was completely dismissed of any charges, report. The Book makes it clear: It is time to move forward.”
