President Joe Biden’s @POTUS X account responded to a post from the account of the “Sesame Street” character Elmo.
Tuesday’s tweet from the president’s account came after an earlier post on the Elmo account went viral.Monday, Red Monster social media accounts posed A seemingly innocuous question, “Elmo is just checking in! How’s everyone doing?”
But the question sparked a flood of replies, and the post has garnered more than 167 million views so far, and appears to have become something of a phenomenon.
“The world is on fire, Elmo. No amount of tickling can fix this,” says the Not the Bee account made a joke Answer Elmo’s questions.
“America is in trouble, Elmo. We need Trump back!” Brigitte Gabriel tweeted.
“Elmo, have you been to the grocery store lately? I don’t know if you drive, but did you fill up your tank? Stop lighting us up with gas. You know this place is real.” someone said. I have written.
And on Tuesday, Elmo’s account tweeted“Wow! Elmo was glad you listened! Elmo learned it’s important to check in with his friends. Elmo will check in again soon, friends! Elmo loves you. ” The post also included the hashtag “#EmotionalWellBeing.”
Biden’s @POTUS account responded to the post: write“We know how difficult it is some days to shake off the clouds and welcome a sunny day. Our friend Elmo is right. We are all there for each other and our neighbors in need. You must offer help, and most of all, ask for help when you need it. As difficult as it may be, you are never alone.”
Unsurprisingly, the post drew immediate backlash.
“To the staff member or intern who wrote this…do you need help?” Rudy Giuliani tweeted.
“Shut up and close the borders” Ben Dieter declared.
“American service members are being killed overseas. There’s an invasion at the border. Americans are struggling to make ends meet. And the president is tweeting to Elmo… You really can’t make this up.” Courtney holland I have written.
