Bidens report adjusted gross income of $619,976 in 2023

President Biden and first lady Jill Biden reported a federally adjusted gross income of $619,976, according to their 2023 federal income tax returns released by the White House on Monday.

The president and first lady filed a joint income tax return and paid $146,629 in federal income taxes, according to records reviewed by Fox News Digital.

The effective federal income tax rate for 2023 was 23.7%.

Flashback: Biden reports adjusted gross income of $579,514 in 2022

The president and first lady also released their Delaware income tax returns, reporting that they paid $30,908 in Delaware income taxes.

First lady Jill Biden also released her Virginia income tax return, reporting that she paid $3,549 in Virginia income taxes from her teaching job at Northern Virginia Community College.

The president’s annual salary is $400,000.

In 2022, the president and first lady reported federally adjusted gross income of $579,514. In 2021, it was reported at $610,702. First couples earned $607,336 in 2020, down from $985,223 in 2019.

The president and first lady also made two donations to 17 different charities, including a $5,000 donation to the Beau Biden Foundation, a public charity that ensures all children are free from the threat of abuse. It also reported a donation of $477.

They also made donations to St. Joseph Church in Brandywine, their home parish, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), and the National Fraternal Order of Police Foundation, among other charities.

Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Class Douglas Emhoff reported a federally adjusted gross income of $450,299. They paid him $88,570 in federal income taxes and his federal income tax rate was 19.7%.

Flashback: White House releases Biden’s 2021 tax return

Harris and Emhoff paid $15,167 in California state income taxes, and Emhoff paid $11,599 in District of Columbia income taxes.

Harris and Emhoff donated $23,026 to charity in 2023.

In a statement after the release of the returns, the White House said the Biden administration had reinstated “the bipartisan tradition of sharing the president’s tax returns with the nation.”

“President Biden has shared a total of 26 years of tax returns with the nation,” the White House announced Monday. “Reiterating his commitment to transparency with the American people, President Biden has released the most tax returns of any commander in chief during his tenure.”

The White House further stated that the president said, “All occupants of the Oval Office should be open and honest with the American people, and the long-standing tradition of releasing the president’s tax returns annually will continue uninterrupted.” I believe we should,” he added.
