‘Big Trouble’ Looms for Mexican Drug Cartels with Trump Administration Rapidly Approaching

Dr. Sebastian Gorka, the incoming Trump administration's senior counterterrorism director and deputy assistant to the president, said on the special. founders roundtable above Breitbart Fight Club Mexico's drug cartels will “face major challenges” after the Trump administration takes office.

Gorka spoke for about an hour and a half on Monday with Breitbart News editor-in-chief Alex Marlowe, Washington bureau chief Matthew Boyle and others, and at one point focused on Mexican drug cartels.

one of Breitbart Fight Club Subscriber Larry Angyarosi asked Gorka in the chat if he planned to “go after Mexican drug cartels” when he takes office next month.

Gorka stressed that Mexican drug cartels “absolutely fall” within the purview of the National Security Council.

“I don't want to get ahead of the skies here and steal threats from incoming national security adviser Mike Walz or the president,” Gorka added. “I encourage everyone who wants to know the potential answer to that question to look up what Congressman Walz said about the narco-terrorism threat. What the president said about cartels. That’s what I’m trying to say.”

In April 2023, President Trump supported a bill introduced by Walz and Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) that would authorize the use of military force against cartels.

“I would do that,” he told Breitbart News at the time.

Months earlier, in January 2023, he announced a policy plan to “wage war” against the cartels.

President Trump's vision at the time included labeling the cartels terrorist organizations, using naval blockades, and using U.S. special forces to inflict “maximum damage” on the cartels. Ta.

Gorka emphasized on Monday:[t]There's an organic coexistence here between cartels, between regular organized crime, and between terrorism…because if you're smuggling humans and fentanyl, you're smuggling weapons and potentially smuggling groups like Al Qaeda and ISIS. This is because agents of the threat group are also smuggling. Or what do you have? ”

“So this is an existing national security threat,” he added. “This is not just a drug and human trafficking issue, so along with things like [incoming Border Czar] Tom Homan and Colonel Waltz on Deck, Jan. 20, Noon The cartels will be in big trouble because President Trump understands the threat. ”

Gorka then compared the combat deaths of U.S. soldiers since World War II to the sky-high death toll resulting from one year's horrific border policies.

Gorka said the death toll of military personnel killed in action between Korea, Vietnam, both Gulf Wars and Afghanistan is approximately 103,000.

“How many civilians died from fentanyl and drug overdoses under Biden's open borders regime? Now you can find the data. Buried deep within the CDC. [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] Website. It takes 40 clicks to get there. But if you do the math, in just the second year of the Biden-Harris border regime, in 12 months, 110 [thousand] Americans died of drug overdoses,” Gorka said.

“Biden and Kamala Harris' opening of the border has killed more Americans in one year than has died in 70 years of combat. That tells you how serious this is. And we're going to take that very seriously,” he added.

CDC memo Almost 108,000 people died from drugs [sic] In 2022, approximately 82,000 overdose deaths occurred due to opioids. ” Opioid deaths accounted for approximately 76% of all overdose deaths.
