Big3 Basketball League Season Opener Highlights
The revamped Big3 Basketball League kicked off its season with some unexpected drama as former NBA stars clashed during the game between La Riot and Miami 305. On the opening day, Dwight Howard from Riot and Lance Stevenson from the 305 found themselves in a heated confrontation.
During the game on Saturday, a video circulating on social media captured the moment when Howard shoved Stevenson near the basket. Following that, Howard attempted to wrap Stevenson in a headlock, but Stevenson pushed him away, leading to what could only be described as chaos on the court.
Things escalated quickly—a melee moved down the baseline, drawing in teammates and officials who had to intervene and separate the two players.
In terms of the game itself, Miami 305 emerged victorious with a 50-44 score. Stevenson was instrumental in this win, leading his team with 16 points, while Howard contributed with 10 points and seven rebounds.
As for Howard, he’s known for his impressive career, having been the first overall pick by the Orlando Magic in 2004. He helped the Magic reach the NBA Finals in 2009 against the Los Angeles Lakers, led by Kobe Bryant. Howard even returned to the Lakers in the 2019-20 season, winning a championship in the Covid Bubble. His journey also includes stints with the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards, and Philadelphia 76ers.
Stevenson, on the other hand, was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in 2010. Throughout his career, he has played for several teams, including the Hornets, Lakers, Clippers, Timberwolves, Hawks, and Pelicans.
