Biden’s performance in the first presidential debate with Donald Trump was a disaster. This is a bipartisan view. Democrats have collectively finally acknowledged the president’s cognitive decline and inability to serve another term, while Republicans say “we told you so.”
Only Biden and his administration have remained adamant on the issue. In a landmark interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos designed to quell panic about Biden’s mental health, the president tried to convince Democrats and the nation at large of his mental strength.

“What Biden had to do here was do not have “I’ve played Biden in debates, and I think he passed the test,” he said, as far as the “Biden Curve” goes. “He wasn’t amazing. I don’t think he showed a ton of energy, but he wasn’t a disaster either.”
