Bijan Robinson's incredible performance leads Falcons to victory over Bills

Atlanta Falcons Defeat Buffalo Bills 24-14

ATLANTA — Bijan Robinson had a standout performance, rushing for a career-high 170 yards, including the longest run of the NFL season, helping Atlanta secure a 24-14 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. The Falcons established an early two-touchdown lead that proved crucial.

Robinson’s impressive 81-yard touchdown run in the second quarter pushed Atlanta (3-2) ahead 21-7. Josh Allen responded by throwing two touchdown passes early in the second half, notably a 16-yarder to Ray Davis.

Late in the third quarter, the Bills (4-2) faced a setback when they were stopped on fourth down near midfield. However, they got another opportunity early in the fourth quarter after Greg Rousseau blocked Parker Romo’s 37-yard field goal attempt.

Despite this, Allen and the Bills couldn’t capitalize. The Falcons sealed their win with a lengthy 14-play drive taking five minutes, culminating in a 33-yard field goal from Romo that extended their lead to 10 points, leaving the Bills no timeouts with just 1:47 left on the clock.

In the closing moments, Atlanta linebacker D’Angelo Malone intercepted Allen’s final pass attempt with 41 seconds remaining. Allen completed 15 of 26 passes for 180 yards, posting two touchdowns but also two interceptions. His recent form raises concerns, having thrown four interceptions over the last three games, in contrast to only one in his previous 12, including the playoffs.

The Falcons leaned heavily on the trio of Penix, Robinson, and Drake London, who racked up 10 catches for 158 yards and a touchdown. Robinson’s impressive outing included 170 rushing yards on 19 carries, along with six receptions for 68 yards, totaling a career-best 238 yards from scrimmage. Penix threw for 250 yards, connecting with London for a 9-yard touchdown, while Tyler Allgaier contributed with a 21-yard touchdown run.

Buffalo fans provided energetic support, so much so that Penix had to switch to a silent count during an early drive.

This loss adds further scrutiny to the Bills’ 4-0 start, as those victories came against teams with a combined record of just 3-21: Baltimore (1-5), New York Jets (0-6), Miami (1-5), and New Orleans (1-5).
