Bijou Phillips has been hospitalized in Los Angeles as she anticipates a second kidney transplant. The 45-year-old actress shared her challenging journey on social media, highlighting the need for a kidney donor.

Having received her first kidney transplant in 2017, Phillips is currently being treated at UCLA and has returned to dialysis while searching for a living donor. She expressed her condition online, emphasizing her hope for a new chance at health.

Phillips has endured kidney disease since birth, noting that she was “born with underdeveloped kidneys” and spent her early months in the NICU undergoing dialysis.

In her post, she reflected on the “wonderful gift” of the first transplant, which allowed her to enjoy eight years of motherhood. However, complications have arisen since then, including the BK virus, leading to rejection issues.

The actress is under the care of Dr. Andrzej Rastogi at UCLA and mentioned that she is indeed “back on dialysis.” Her plea for a kidney donor was heartfelt: she wishes to spend more time with her daughter and loved ones.

In September, Phillips filed for divorce from Danny Masterson, just weeks after he received a 30-year-to-life prison sentence for rape. The jury was deadlocked on one charge during his trial.

She listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for her divorce, a significant decision made after over a decade of marriage and one daughter together.
