Bill Belichick clarifies Jordon Hudson’s position in UNC football

Bill Belichick, the head coach of North Carolina’s Tar Heels, made a statement on Tuesday asserting that Jordon Hudson “has nothing to do” with the football program. This marked his first public comment since a tough CBS interview where Hudson interrupted discussions about their relationship and the interview dynamics.

During the ACC’s spring meeting, Belichick appeared on ESPN’s Sports Center, where he was asked by Christine Williamson about how the off-field situation affected his coaching. He responded, saying it was a personal matter and emphasized that Hudson was not involved with UNC football.

As the team prepares for training camps in June and August—June being a crucial recruitment month—Belichick is looking forward to the upcoming period. Although Hudson isn’t officially part of the program, email exchanges from the athletics division suggested she had some role within his media support.

Hudson reached out to staff members regarding “despicable” remarks circulating on social media. Reports indicated she inquired about monitoring UNC football pages for harmful commentary and blocking users who were overly critical.

Belichick reportedly expressed disbelief that UNC would tolerate him being labeled a “predator.” In response, UNC’s Senior Associate Athletic Director Evans stated that the social media team was indeed suppressing comments related to his personal life, clarifying, “UNC will never support you.”

Hudson also voiced worries about perceptions of “nepotism” due to Belichick’s son, Steve, being the defensive coordinator. Following this, Belichick requested that staff include Hudson in future communications.

North Carolina recently found itself needing to clarify a report suggesting that Hudson had been barred from university facilities. The athletics department released a statement confirming that while Hudson isn’t an official staff member, she is allowed to use the soccer facilities and manages activities linked to Belichick’s personal brand, excluding responsibilities related to the football program.
