Bill Belichick needs to regain control with Jordon Hudson — former NFL insider Pete King criticizes ‘humiliating’ situation

Peter King has been closely following Bill Belichick’s journey in the NFL, observing his evolution from a Giants assistant to arguably the best coach in NFL history with the Patriots.

It was quite surprising for King to see Belichick, known for his stoic presence, wrapped up in recent drama about his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, especially in light of his recent, notably polished performance during that “CBS Sunday Morning” interview.

“This is a guy who used to command every space he entered, and now he’s got a 24-year-old trying to dictate his actions,” King commented, expressing disbelief.

He added, “Belichick really needs to sort this out. It’s pretty embarrassing, to be honest, for someone with his level of achievement.”

The relationship with Hudson has turned into a major talking point in sports circles, especially after she intervened during the interview about Belichick’s upcoming book.

When interviewer Tony Docpile inquired about how they met, Hudson quickly cut in, stating that it wasn’t something to be discussed, which the show noted indicated her ongoing presence throughout the segment.

Belichick later criticized CBS for “selective editing,” defending Hudson’s involvement in the conversation.

“This feels like some classic ‘Mike and the Mad Dog’ drama,” King remarked, highlighting the absurdity of the scenario.

According to Page 6, Hudson even had a hand in pushing Belichick into Dunkin’ Donuts commercials alongside Ben Affleck.

There are also reports that North Carolina is feeling “concerned” about the situation, while some allies of Belichick have dismissed former cheerleaders as being “running trains.”

Former Patriots lineman Ted Johnson suggested that the university should consider firing Belichick. A critical remark about Hudson even came from his stepdaughter, and his friend, Charles Barkley, expressed some unease about the whole affair.

This all contrasts sharply with the established image of the Belichicks during King’s time in the NFL.

Just two years ago, King and Belichick were on less friendly terms, their relationship deteriorating in the aftermath of the Spygate scandal that rattled the league.

King expressed, “It’s just part of the business sometimes.” He went on to acknowledge Belichick as one of the greatest coaches ever, though he criticized actions taken in 2007.

Additionally, King took a jab at Belichick’s appearance when he promoted his forthcoming book, “The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football,” while donning a worn sweatshirt.

“He went on TV dressed in a ripped sweatshirt. I mean, why do that when you could be donning an immaculate tailored suit just days later?” King pondered.

King felt that Belichick looked somewhat foolish and that it didn’t help sell his book at all, although he did commend the book’s content.

“It might not have looked great from the start, but if you’re promoting something or even doing any interview, you can’t come off as the indifferent Bill Belichick that we saw on CBS,” he commented. “Why put yourself out there like that? It just gives off a certain impression.”

“There’s a flood of books out there right now.”
