Bill Belichick seeks to explain the UNC-‘Hard Knocks’ analysis during the Jordon Hudson situation.

Bill Belichick Discusses North Carolina’s HBO “Hard Knock” Decision

Bill Belichick is addressing why North Carolina chose not to be the first college football program featured on HBO’s “Hard Knock.” Interestingly, his comments don’t reference his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.

“Hard Knock” mainly focuses on training camps and the drama around player cuts. “We’re in a different phase,” Belichick explained on “The Pivot” podcast with Ryan Clark. “It’s about seasons, and that isn’t what they’re after.”

He further shared, “There are filming issues too, but let’s not dwell on that. Even if those were resolved, it simply didn’t fit us. That’s really the crux of the matter.”

As reported by Page 6, Hudson allegedly “requested” to be the executive producer of the “Hard Knock” series prior to the HBO agreement’s collapse in late March.

Additionally, sources indicated that Hudson wanted to review the show’s daily content, emphasizing that she would approach the project with professionalism, respecting the coach’s trademark style.

Earlier reports noted that Hudson’s company, PowerPlay, saw an opportunity for increased visibility for the Tar Heels program following Belichick’s involvement, which includes potential facility fees estimated at $200,000.

Belichick’s relationship with the 73-year-old Hudson has been under scrutiny, especially following a tense moment during a “CBS Sunday Morning” interview where she intervened from off-camera.

While Belichick has never participated in “Hard Knock” during his coaching tenure with the New England Patriots, he maintains that Hudson is not officially connected with North Carolina.

This week, the legendary coach continues his promotional tour for his book, “The Art of Winning,” with interviews on ABC and ESPN.
