Bill Belichick took out a full-page ad in Sunday’s Boston Globe thanking the New England Patriots for their love and support over the nearly 25 years he has guided them to six Super Bowl championships.
Belichick’s era came to an end in January when Tom Brady left the organization for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he and the franchise parted ways after making just one playoff appearance. Belichick interviewed twice for the head coaching position with the Atlanta Falcons, but was not accepted.

Belichick’s letter read, “Nowhere in America are there more passionate professional sports fans than in New England. For 24 years, I’ve been blessed to feel your passion and power.” “Although the Patriots are the only NFL team representing six states, Patriots Nation actually knows no borders.
“Undaunted by the weather, you participated in scorching training camp practices and braved the coldest, wettest, snowiest and windiest days in Foxboro. …Your thoughtful letter included support, criticism, and creative play suggestions. You were watching on TV, on the Internet, and from the stadium seats.

In addition to the championship, he was named AP Coach of the Year three times. He went 266-121 with the Patriots, giving him 302 career wins.
