Bill Belichick wishes Tom Brady well for Fox debut in Instagram video

Bill Belichick is apparently getting his way on Instagram.

A few days later Tom Brady declared, “The party is over.” With Belichick now on the social media platform, the former Patriots quarterback responded to the playful quip in a new video on Sunday as he prepares to make his regular-season debut as a Fox NFL announcer.

“Hey Tom, what do you mean the party's over, it's just getting started,” Belichick began. “I wish you the best of luck in your season opener in Cleveland.”

Belichick then reminisced, saying his first game against Dallas as Cleveland's head coach in 1991 “didn't go very well.”

“You're going to do great, I can't wait to see you play today,” he concluded with a smile.

Before being hired by the Patriots in 2000, Belichick, 72, coached the Browns from 1991-95, the same year they drafted a then-unknown Brady and ultimately built a legendary legacy by winning six championships.

The Browns lost 26-14 to the Cowboys in Week 1 and finished the season with a 6-10 record.

Belichick won't be on an NFL sideline this year, but the legendary coach has been busy as he aims to return in 2025 after leaving the Patriots in January.

In addition to his media appearances on ESPN's “ManningCast” and “The Pat McAfee Show,” Belichick has been enjoying downtime with his 23-year-old girlfriend, Jordan Hudson, who welcomed him to Instagram last week.

Meanwhile, Brady, who scathingly criticized Belichick's decision on Instagram in a short video last week, is scheduled to make his long-awaited debut as an NFL commentator on Sunday afternoon when the Browns host the Cowboys in Cleveland.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion coach agreed to a massive 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox in May 2022.

Brady spent the final three years of his NFL career with the Buccaneers after 20 seasons in New England.

He retired in February 2023.
