While both were at Kenan Memorial Stadium, their interaction was limited and, well, a bit awkward. Hudson, who is 24, reportedly didn’t seem to engage much with Schmidt amidst the victory. There’s been some speculation—especially after Schmidt’s somewhat critical comments online regarding Hudson earlier this year related to a disastrous interview on CBS Sunday Morning.
On Saturday, Hudson was decked out in a white top, blue skirt, and boots. She wore a necklace that said “Banned,” which might be a subtle nod to rumors about her status within the football community.
Meanwhile, Schmidt was there supporting the Tar Heels, sporting a white long-sleeved top and blue shorts. Their family dynamics have certainly been under the spotlight since Hudson and Belichick’s relationship became public in the summer of 2024.
Their relationship caught significant attention when Hudson interrupted an interview where Belichick was asked about her. This incident led to some discussions, including from Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski, who defended Hudson, claiming he was acting as Belichick’s publicist at that moment. Comedian Nikki Glaser chimed in on the podcast’s Instagram, backing Hudson, while Schmidt responded with sarcasm about publicist conduct in the comments.
Schmidt’s husband, Stephen, serves as the defensive coordinator for the Tar Heels. Recently, the team has shown some improvement on the field.
With the win on Saturday, Belichick’s team improved to 4-5 for the season, celebrating a victory just a week after defeating Syracuse. Before this streak, their last win had been on September 13 against Richmond.
