Reports trickled in that he was close to leaving the New England Patriots, and it took only a few minutes for Bill Belichick's name to pop up in rumors of another team's head coaching job.
Belichick's dynasty in Foxboro is reportedly coming to an end after 24 seasons and six Super Bowl championships. However, his next step seems wide open and retirement doesn't seem to be an option at this point.

According to The Athletic, at least one team has expressed interest in Belichick “for several weeks now”: the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons fired Arthur Smith after their Week 18 loss to the New Orleans Saints and are once again embarking on a journey to find a new head coach.
According to ESPN, Falcons team owner Arthur Blank pointed out that Joe Gibbs and Bill Parcells have also chased whales in the past, but none of them made it ashore. Now that Belichick is free to do whatever he wants, the Falcons could court the legendary coach. That's if Belichick wants to develop a young offense with quarterback Desmond Ridder, running back Bijan Robinson, tight end Kyle Pitts, and a wide receiving corps of Drake Rondon and Mack Hollins.

The Falcons went 7-10 in each of the past three seasons.
The Washington Commanders are also said to be interested in recruiting Belichick, at least for the season. ESPN reported that Washington, along with the Falcons, would be “discussed” as possible landing spots.
The Los Angeles Chargers have also surfaced in rumors as well.

No matter where Belichick lands, the team has a chance to break Belichick's all-time winning record. He is 302-165 between his time with New England and the Cleveland Browns. He is chasing Don Shula's record of 328 wins.
