Bill Belichick made headlines Thursday when he made his first red carpet appearance with his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson at the Museum Gala in New York City.
Hours earlier, multiple reports confirmed that the legendary NFL coach recently interviewed for the vacant head coaching position at the University of North Carolina.
Belichick's whirlwind week drew plenty of reactions, including jokes about date nights on the red carpet and lots of questions about college football interviews.

“Guys are playing with fire by dating 24-year-olds and trying to become college coaches, haha,” said one person. I wrote to X.
“Is Bill Belichick trying to give his girlfriend free tuition?” another person wrote.
On Thursday, CBS Sports Belichick said the interview with UNC was a “huge publicity stunt” and that it was all part of a “carefully orchestrated dance in search of coaching.”
Another report by sports illustrated Belichick has been in talks with North Carolina State for several days and said he has genuine interest in the college game.
UNC fired Mack Brown, 73, on Nov. 26, six years into his second season with the Tar Heels.
He led the program to a 44-32 record with five bowl appearances (four losses) over the last six years.
Belichick hopes to return to coaching in 2025 after flashing his talents to ESPN this season.
His interview with the Tar Heels is his first known meeting at the collegiate level since parting ways with the Patriots.
Belichick, 72, and the Patriots parted ways in January after 24 seasons that included six Super Bowl championships, nine AFC Championships and 17 AFC East championships.
He interviewed for the Falcons' job last offseason and was ultimately hired by Raheem Morris.
Belichick previously turned down offers to join the 49ers and Rams as defensive coordinator.
Belichick has remained busy since then, even though he stepped back from coaching.
He joined ESPN and appears regularly on a number of shows, including Peyton and Eli Manning's “Manning Cast” and “The Pat McAfee Show.”
Belichick and Hudson's relationship became public in June during their first outing together on Nantucket. ride on a boat.
Photos obtained by the newspaper showed the couple aboard Belichick's $225,000 boat, VIII Rings.

Belichick partnered with gaming company Underdog Fantasy to launch his own football show this summer and also joined Instagram.
Hudson, a former professional cheerleader, began posting about Belichick on Instagram in September.
Belichick and Hudson are said to have started dating after he split from Linda Holiday, who he dated for 16 years, in 2022.
The two reportedly met on a plane in 2021.
