Bill Clinton Spotted at NYC Marathon with Bandaged Nose
Former President Bill Clinton was seen at the finish line of the New York City Marathon this past Sunday, sporting a bandage on the tip of his nose. The 79-year-old was embracing his daughter Chelsea, 45, who participated in the race, and his wife, Hillary, 78, was also present.
The reason behind Clinton’s bandaged nose isn’t entirely clear, though he has faced various health issues over the years, including significant challenges two decades ago. In 2004, he underwent a successful quadruple bypass surgery after doctors found that some of his arteries were nearly 100% blocked. It was reported that he narrowly avoided a severe heart attack at that time.
The following year, he suffered a collapsed lung, adding to his medical history. Health concerns remained prevalent as well. In 2021, he was hospitalized due to a urinary tract infection that spread to his bloodstream, although he recovered after a few days of treatment and was released in good condition.
Later, in 2022, Clinton contracted the coronavirus, which was described as mild. Yet, given his history of heart disease, concerns about his health persisted.
In August 2025, he was photographed at an airport with what appeared to be medical equipment that some speculated was a defibrillator, leading to additional worries regarding his health status. Nonetheless, recent images from the marathon reveal him in high spirits as he cheered for Chelsea at the finish line.
I suppose it might make one reflect on the ups and downs of life—and health—especially at such a busy event. Despite everything, seeing Clinton smile and support his daughter was, perhaps, refreshing to witness.
