Texas lawmakers want to amend that gender transition procedures and state bans on child care also apply to adults.
Rep. Brent Money (R) recently submitted HB 3399. change Fox News reported on Saturday that the current language of law reads “people” instead of “people” in place of “children.”

A money proposal prohibits medical procedures “for the purpose of transitioning a person's biological sex” or “affirming a person's perception of a person's sexuality” if the perception does not match the person's biological sex.
Surgery and adolescent blockers are prohibited with the exception of doctors who prescribe adolescent blockers to children with parental consent to normalizing adolescence and doctors for surgery in people born with “verified genetic disorders of sexual development.”
The Texas Supreme Court upheld the state's ban on so-called “gender-affirming care” for children in June, Breitbart News reported. “In a 8-1 decision, the state's Supreme Court rejected arguments from parents who argued that Texas law, which came into effect in September 2023, opposed the right to decide whether or not to seek medical care for their children.”
The overwhelming majority of Texas Republican voters believed that changing a child's gender was child abuse 2022, according to a cwsResearch/DependTXLiberty Survey.
“The investigation comes when leftist activists try to normalize radical gender ideology and encourage parents to “affirm” their children's chosen gender.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump recently signed an executive order to suspend federal funding for so-called “gender-affirming care” for minors, UPI reported.
The order “will strictly enforce all laws that are U.S. policy that fund, sponsor, promote, support or support children's so-called “transitions” and prohibit or limit these disruptive, life-changing procedures. ”
