During a recent discussion on Bill Maher’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” guest Joel Stein offered an interesting perspective on the recent pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses.
“They know what they’re doing, they know what they’re saying, and we think it’s cute because they don’t look threatening,” Stein said, adding, “But they have a lot more power than the people in Charlottesville.”
“Because it comes from the left. Everything is a team sport now,” Bill Maher responded. “The people in Charlottesville who were yelling, ‘The Jews can’t replace us,’ that’s awful. That’s awful enough to die. Isn’t that deplorable?”
“It’s just deplorable,” Ana Navarro countered defensively.
“If I were a Holocaust survivor, and maybe not many are today, I would choose ‘The Jews Will Not Replace Us’ over ‘Death to Zionists,'” Maher continued.
Navarro further argued that no one is saying that the slogans campus protesters are repeating about Jews are correct.
“Who is forgiving them?” she asked.
“Left wing,” Stein declared.
“There’s not been the condemnation like there was after Charlottesville,” Maher added.
Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report is Jewish himself and grew up around many Holocaust survivors, and of course he agrees with Stein and Maher.
“I think they would choose ‘The Jews cannot replace us’ over ‘Death to all Zionists,'” Rubin said.
