Bill Maher Open to Interviewing Trump
Recently, HBO host Bill Maher shared on the podcast “Club Random” that he would definitely consider interviewing President Donald Trump. This statement came a few weeks after Maher met Trump at the White House.
During the conversation with author Lewis Howes, Maher, who has often criticized Trump, was asked if he’d have the president on his show. His response was enthusiastic: “Yeah, of course, he’s the president of America. Are you crazy?”
Maher reflected on his experience with former President Barack Obama, mentioning that Obama never appeared on his show during his presidency and that he felt he had to “shame him” to finally get an interview in the eighth year of his term.
He noted that while he appreciated the White House meeting, it lacked the fun and engagement typical of his studio show. “It wasn’t funny,” he remarked, emphasizing that it was just the two of them in an interview room.
Interestingly, Maher voiced that he felt freer discussing his thoughts with Trump compared to past presidents. “As long as I can speak freely about my feelings, yes,” he said. “Trump is kind of, but sorry, he is definitely a man.”
Reflecting on Trump’s early days in office, Maher has been critical, describing the first 100 days as a “s–show.” He expressed significant concerns about Trump’s leadership style and decisions, pointing out issues such as the handling of the Supreme Court and cuts to vital services, highlighting a perceived lack of concern for those in need.
