Josh Allen Leads Bills to Victory Over Dolphins
On Thursday night, Josh Allen achieved a noteworthy milestone, guiding the Buffalo Bills to a 31-21 win against the Miami Dolphins at Highmark Stadium.
Allen’s opening drive culminated in a 20-yard touchdown pass to Dalton Kincaid in the first quarter. Remarkably, he became the fastest player to hit 300 career offensive touchdowns—this includes playoffs—outpacing Patrick Mahomes in just 127 games.
However, the victory didn’t come easily. The Bills faced a tenacious Dolphins offense, which scored a touchdown on their first drive.
In the fourth quarter, Tua Tagovailoa connected with Tyreek Hill to tie the game with 12:18 remaining, completing a 9-play, 67-yard drive. Yet, just when it seemed the Dolphins had stopped Buffalo, they received a crucial break.
The Bills were ready to punt after the Dolphins leveled the score at 21, but Dolphins lineman Zach Sieler was flagged for a penalty on punter Cameron Johnston. This allowed the Bills a new set of downs. A few plays later, Allen found Khalil Shakir with a 15-yard touchdown pass, putting Buffalo ahead by seven with 7:17 left in the game.
Tagovailoa, aiming to tie things again, initiated a solid drive, converting two crucial third downs and advancing the team into the red zone. However, his pass intended for Jalen Waddle was intercepted by linebacker Terrell Bernard.
During the game, Allen completed 22 of 22 passes for 213 yards, tossing three touchdown passes. Receivers Shaquille, Dalton Kincaid, and Jackson Haws all contributed with touchdown catches. Notably, this was also his 200th passing touchdown.
Buffalo’s running back James Cook had an impressive night, racking up 108 yards on 19 carries.
This loss marked Miami’s seventh consecutive defeat to the Bills, dating back to September 25, 2022.
Tagovailoa’s performance was decent but lacked depth, averaging 7 yards per completion. He finished the night with 23 completions on 35 attempts for 161 yards, including two touchdowns. Hill led the Dolphins with five receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown, while Waddle also caught five passes with a touchdown for 39 yards.
With this win, the Bills improved to a 3-0 record, while the Dolphins fell to 0-3.
