Josh Allen Reflects on MVP Season and Super Bowl Aspirations
Last season marked a significant milestone for Josh Allen, showcasing what many consider to be the peak of his performance in the NFL.
He wrapped up the regular season with an impressive tally of 12 rushing touchdowns and 28 passing touchdowns against just six interceptions. Following this outstanding achievement, Allen was awarded the NFL MVP title. Recently, he took a moment to reflect on his personal achievements but underscored that winning the Vince Lombardi trophy is still his top priority.
“I don’t play that much,” Allen said in an interview. “It’s such an honor, and I’m really grateful, but I still haven’t won the Super Bowl. That’s my only goal.”
Throughout the regular season, Allen significantly contributed to the Buffalo Bills’ success, leading them to six consecutive playoff appearances and clinching five straight AFC East Division titles. Yet, the postseason has been a bit of a thorn in their side over the years.
The AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs last January was particularly disappointing for the Bills. A narrow loss, just inches away from achieving a critical play in the fourth quarter, allowed the Chiefs to pull off a 32-29 victory. In fact, the Chiefs have eliminated the Bills in four of the last five playoff seasons.
Despite the setbacks, Allen remains committed to improving the team’s prospects. “At the end of the day, you have to make the playoffs and aim to win three or four games to get to the top,” he explained. “We need to keep working hard and ask ourselves what we can do to overcome that hurdle. That’s our primary goal moving forward.”
It’s been over three decades since the Bills last reached the Super Bowl, having faced four consecutive losses from 1991 to 1994. The upcoming 2025 regular season kicks off for the Bills against the Baltimore Ravens on September 7th.
