Earlier in May, he had announced the cancellation of all his shows due to a diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), a condition where cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the skull. This condition can be particularly distressing, especially for those over 65. The announcement on his website detailed that recent performances had aggravated his symptoms, affecting his hearing, vision, and balance. Doctors have advised him to undergo specialized physical therapy and to refrain from performing during his recovery.
His wife, Alexis Roderick, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support during this challenging time, stating, “Bill was loved by many… We wish him a speedy recovery.” It’s clear that this support means a lot, both to him and to his family.
