Firerose argued in a court response obtained by Fox News Digital that “there was no emergency.” The singer said he had been using the American Express card in question since 2022.
“The allegation that the Wife filed 37 unauthorized claims is without merit,” her lawyers wrote in the filing. “During the divorce proceedings, the parties will continue to live in accordance with the status quo during the marriage. The Wife has simply been living her life as before since October 10, 2023, and the Husband has no right to sever his relationship with her.”

Cyrus previously agreed to provide Firerose with money while their divorce proceedings proceed.
In the order filed on May 24, the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer specifically agreed to pay Firerose $500 per night for 10 nights “for her to stay in a hotel or Airbnb.”
Additionally, Cyrus agreed to pay Firerose $5,000 per month to help her purchase a “suitable” home “for 90 days or until divorce, whichever occurs first.”
