Freddie Mercury’s Secret Daughter Revealed in Upcoming Biography

According to a new biography, it appears that Freddie Mercury has a daughter who has maintained her anonymity for almost five decades.

The book, titled Love, Freddie: Freddie Mercury’s Secret Life and Love, suggests that the Queen lead singer unexpectedly fathered a child with a close friend’s wife in 1976.

The daughter, referred to as “B” in the biography, disclosed that only Mercury’s parents, sister, bandmates, and his long-time partner Mary Austin were aware of her existence.

Now 48 and residing in Europe, Mercury’s daughter spoke with rock biographer Lesley-Ann Jones, revealing that she enjoyed a “very close and loving” relationship with her father for 15 years until he passed away from AIDS in 1991 at age 45.

She revealed that she always knew Mercury was her biological father. In fact, he frequently visited her and her mother during her childhood, calling her “every day” while on tour or working with Queen.

The singer reportedly gave her 17 volumes of personal journals, which were kept hidden until she brought them to Jones’s attention.

Mercury began writing these journals shortly after learning about the pregnancy on June 20, 1976, just two days following the release of Queen’s single “You’re My Best Friend” from the album A Night At The Opera.

When approached by the Daily Mail regarding her belief in “B” and her story, Jones initially harbored some doubts. However, she has since become convinced of Mercury’s fatherhood.

“I was instinctively skeptical, but now I have no doubt she is sincere. It’s not possible for someone to fabricate such a story so convincingly,” Jones remarked. “In my experiences, people seeking attention usually want something in return. She hasn’t asked for any of that.”

Jones added, “She doesn’t seek fame. Both Freddie and her stepdad left her quite well off. While she’s not included in Freddie’s will, legal arrangements ensure she’s taken care of.”

The biography is set to be released on September 5, 2025.
