One year after the SEC approved spot Bitcoin ETFs, these funds have surpassed $100 billion in total assets in their first year of trading. Bitwise Asset Management CIO Matt Hougan joins us to discuss the outlook for Bitcoin (BTC-USD) in 2025.
Bitwise operates several proprietary Bitcoin (BITB, BITC, BTOP) and cryptocurrency (BITQ, BITW) ETFs.
“As we look to 2025, the number of tailwinds moving this industry forward are very strong,” Hogan explained, citing factors such as ETF inflows, the incoming Trump administration, and institutional investors. He said there are “too many long-term positives” driving the market.
Discussing the incoming Trump administration, Hogan outlines several key steps in the first 100 days: securing approval of crypto-friendly candidates, suspending regulatory “legislation” , the enforcement of enhanced stablecoin and market structure laws. He suggested that such actions could position the United States as the “crypto capital of the world.”
