“My neighborhood needs money. My city needs money,” said a black woman wearing a red “Make America Great Again” cowboy hat. “That’s why I’m asking you to spend your tax dollars on the people. We need that.”
Another woman, wearing a “No More Blue: Go Red” shirt, also stood to alert the city council and mayor.
“Vote today to get money for these immigrants, and we’re coming for those seats. You can trust us,” the woman said. “You better worry about your job. You better worry about your longevity, ’cause we’re going to vote and you’re not doing the right thing on our side, so we’re going to kick you out. That’s what I’m planning to do.”

For his part, Johnson hit back at his critics.

Johnson blames the Biden administration’s failure to issue work permits quickly and a lack of federal funding.
