Conservative black and gay influencer Rob Smith has called out GQ magazines after the outlet published an article about gay Trump supporters, but has not mentioned his race did.
Smith said Fox News Digital said that when he first read the work, he thought it was “surprisingly fair”, but later he noticed the “angle” that surprised him. The author of the work failed to mention Smith's race, with the handles of other social media influencers in the article, but Smith was ruled out. Smith is a writer and editor in a way that promotes “the story of all Trump supporters, whether gay or straight, are white and therefore racist.” They say they believe there is.
“Omitting what I mention is black and omitting my social media handle or omitting my photos would be what this person was reading this article and thinking about me. It made him believe he wanted someone who had never experienced it. Smith told Fox News Digital.

Smith touched on the idea in both his interviews with GQ Magazine and Fox News Digital, pointing to the disconnection between gay men and gender ideology.
Additionally, Smith accused GQ and other “liberal outlets” of trying to “eliminate” the identity of Black Republicans. He accused the portrayal of Republicans in mainstream media as outdated and said he didn't see the party's face in the “Trump era.”
“These days, the gatherings of conservatives, especially young conservatives, will be diverse. It's like we're in the party we're now, and even when they want to throw us, there's a lot. Even if the liberal outlets break bones by acknowledging that we exist, they wrap their heads around the fact that there are conservatives, Republicans and Trump supporters. “We can't,” Smith told Fox News Digital.
The incident at GQ comes just weeks after New York magazines were accused of cutting off black partygoers from photos taken at the inauguration event. The piece, entitled “The Crual Kids 'Table,” features photos of a party hosted by Black's conservative influencer CJ Pearson.
Pearson has taken legal action against the magazine, saying he would portray Republicans as racist.
“They don't slander us as racist. They can't decorate us in print. We need to fight back and step into the fire,” Pearson says Fox News He told Digital.
In addition to the cropped images, the work in the New York magazine included quotes from attendees who complained that “the entire room was white.”
