Blackhawks-Oilers Game Gets Invaded By Bat Leading To Absolutely Incredible Catch That Had To Be Highlight Of Night

It’s always a good time when a bat makes it into the arena!

Chicago Blackhawks fans haven’t been able to have much joy this season with their team having a dismal 16-31-6 record and being dead last in the Central Division. With that being said, though, they happened to get a little bit Wednesday night as a bat made it into United Center just prior to the Blackhawks game against the Edmonton Oilers. Waiting for the 8:30 p.m. start time (Chicago time), fans ended up noticing a bat hanging out on the ice.

Luckily, a United Center crew member named Lucas managed to catch the bat, which is an absolutely incredible accomplishment considering how fast these things fly. It appeared that he did so with a dog catcher’s net … and where the hell did they get a dog catcher’s net?

Every time I see a bat story in sports, I can’t help but think about San Antonio Spurs legend Manu Ginóbili smacking the hell out of one and knocking it out.

Absolute classic moment in NBA history.
