The fascists who control Hollywood, and especially the entertainment media, have been wholeheartedly endorsing McCarthy’s approach for some time now and have been looking for an excuse to blacklist Oscar blogger Sasha Stone. In their desperation, they invented a ridiculously disingenuous reason this week.
Breitbart readers should be familiar with Sasha Stone. I interviewed her two years ago. At the time, she and I had nothing in common politically; she was still a respectable Democrat. But I’m not a fascist, so we just shared a love of movies and concern that woke terror is killing the cinematic arts. She’s a smart woman, a brilliant writer, and an online pioneer.
Twenty-five years ago, in 1999, Stone launched a fledgling website now known as “Oscarblog,” and basically invented the huge industry that is Oscarblogging. Mainichi AwardShe started the coverage (and influence) of the Oscar race that is now ubiquitous and institutionalized. For decades, her work has Variety, The Hollywood Reporterand rap. She appeared on NPR and New York MagazineIn 2021, director David Fincher approached her to write and narrate the first episode of his Netflix series. look.
So what has changed?
Now, before we get to that, it’s important to point out that it wasn’t the Stone that changed…

Stone’s writing (and I’ve been reading her work for 20 years) is insightful, trenchant, passionate, wry, knowledgeable, rigorous, witty and honest. And her analysis of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, Hollywood and the The Hollywood Reporter She was beloved. When her relentless style advanced left-leaning causes, she got away with anything and the film industry rained advertising dollars on Awards Daily.
Here’s another thing that hasn’t changed… Stone has always supported unlimited free speech and artistic freedom. She has always been against the mutilation and sterilization of underage children. Hey, didn’t we all think that too until about five minutes ago?

With the Democrats embracing censorship and victimizing young children to their transgender overlords, Stone sees no choice but to vote for Donald Trump.

Inventing pretexts to annihilate political apostates is something the woke Gestapo has done many times before.
If you recall, in 2021 the Disney Grooming Syndicate and the entertainment media concocted a pretext to fire and blacklist Gina Carano. Her crime? Reminding people that the Nazis incited ordinary Germans to terrorize the Jews. Her argument? The obvious parallels to the left-wing terrorist violence we see in Anita and Black Lives Matter, and the left’s terrible snitch culture. Ah, but suddenly, after numerous leftists used (and still use) Nazi comparisons against Trump and his supporters (including Carano’s Disney co-star Pedro Pascal), such a thing became an outrageous, fire-worthy offense.
Hollywood Elsewhere Jeffrey Wells still openly hates Trump, but like his longtime friend Sasha Stone, he refuses to pretend that woke Stasi/Robespierre gangs aren’t destroying cinema. I’ve been reading Wells for almost as long as Stone. We mostly disagree, but the reason his site is so fascinating is because 1) he’s a fantastic writer, and 2) his site is more than a movie site, it’s basically a stream of consciousness, and his shortcomings are exposed so often. For over 15 years, none of this was an issue. But then Jeff Wells suddenly started railing against the anti-art horrors of the woke. Jeff Wells It was problematic. In one stream-of-consciousness post, Wells suggested that the murder of three Asian women might generate sympathy for Asian director Chloé Zhao in the form of an Oscar win. For anyone familiar with the reflexive Academy and how it virtue-signals, the post makes perfect sense. And yet, with Hollywood’s McCarthyists desperately searching for a reason to silence their anti-woke apostates, Wells Started It has dropped out of important associations and lost advertisers.
Now, I would like to tell you about the crime that was designed to erase everything Sasha Stone has spent the last 25 years building. explanation This wouldn’t need explaining if the left-wing and entertainment media weren’t looking for an excuse to destroy her.
[W]When I saw [a] … “A white man who supports Kamala Harris.” [announcement] I couldn’t help but notice the irony and ridiculousness of a whites-only fundraiser. So I made a joke out of it because that’s exactly what it was: white power. It was white power disguised as allyship, and I thought that was funny. … In other words, racism is back!
After seeing a tweet announcing a fundraiser for “White Men Supporting Harris,” Stone tweeted, “White power!”
Everyone, including the McCarthyites, The Hollywood Reporter, I know what she was trying to say. Anyone who knows her or her work knows what she was trying to say. Anyone with an IQ above 50 knows what she was trying to say. Of course it was sarcastic. Of course it was sarcastic. But the woke Gestapo is hell-bent on destroying her.
I have nothing to do with fascism, but you should know this. The Hollywood Reporter:
“Sasha Stone’s comments are now harmful,” one executive told me, adding that studios are raising advertising fees. Mainichi AwardAnother studio representative said they would not invite her to screenings or events. “If she’s trying to be sarcastic, it’s not funny,” said a senior Academy member. Mainichi Awardannounced that some of its most prolific contributors were leaving Stone’s website to set up their own new website.

[Stone’s] Her white supremacist comments may ultimately lead to her being booted out of Hollywood, which in some ways seems to be what she wanted, as living proof of what she claims is growing left-wing intolerance.
The people trying to blacklist Sasha Stone are no doubt the same types of people who lie in bed at night imagining themselves going back in time and playing the hero against Joe McCarthy. But look at them now… just like Joe McCarthy, they hide behind virtue, inventing crimes to destroy someone simply because they disagree with her politics.
