Blake Lively has been on Instagram a spree over the past few days posting updates (and stunning looks) from the past month, including a double denim look in which she compared herself to none other than Britney Spears.
“You say Canadian prom dress, I say Britney bitch,” the Gossip Girl alum captioned the post. post On Friday, she posted a photo of herself looking chic in a long denim coat and a matching dress.
Lively attended her It Ends With Us co-star Brandon Sklenar’s birthday dinner at Carbone in New York City on June 28, where she paired a sparkly Self-Portrait minidress with a floor-length denim jacket by Dries Van Noten.
The look was reminiscent of Spears at the 2001 American Music Awards, where she wore a now-iconic Kurt & Burt denim dress alongside then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, who wore full jeans.
The Shallows star wore her blonde hair in beachy waves for the night out and accessorized with a small denim and gold Chanel crossbody bag and pale blue rhinestone-embellished Gucci heels.
In addition to her “Canadian prom dress,” Lively shared several throwback photos from her busy summer, including a beautiful flower-covered Balmain mini dress she wore to Book Bonanza 2024 and the $19,000 cut-out Valentino jeans she wore to a surprise screening of “It Ends With Us.”
As for the original denim dress, Spears wrote in her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” that she loved seeing others copy it.
“I know it’s lame, but it’s also awesome in its own way and I’m always happy to see it parodied as a Halloween costume,” the “Womanizer” singer wrote.
