Blake Lively Seeks Protection Orders Amidst Legal Dispute

Blake Lively is in the process of obtaining protection orders against Justin Baldoni and his team, responding to their “requests” for access to private communications between herself and Taylor Swift.

Documents obtained indicate that Baldoni’s team is actively pursuing these communications, despite previously retracting a subpoena aimed at Swift and her attorney. Lively’s lawyer, Esra Hudson, asserts that Baldoni’s approach seems to suggest that Swift and her fanbase are key to the media strategy concerning Lively, warranting a protective request.

A representative for Baldoni did not respond to requests for comment regarding the matter.

Lively’s spokesperson stated, “Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer’s team had requested access to Taylor Swift’s private communications, although they had initially been cautioned against this.” They mentioned an attempt to involve Swift in the case dating back to August 2024, when a PR firm included her in a strategy document, labeling her fanbase as a significant factor.

The ongoing focus on Swift appears to detract from the legal issues at hand, including the allegations against Baldoni. The situation underscores a broader tactic, as mentioned in Lively’s spokesperson’s statement, which suggests that resorting to a media spectacle might serve to shift attention away from the critical claims in the case.

Swift was initially called to testify in this legal dispute, but it has since been confirmed that Baldoni’s team has withdrawn that request. Insider sources indicate that there is no requirement for a subpoena if the necessary information can be obtained voluntarily.

“The attempts to pull Taylor Swift into this situation showcase the lengths to which they will go for distraction,” stated a representative for Lively.

Lively’s team expressed satisfaction over the withdrawal of the subpoena, highlighting their role in defending parties who are unjustly targeted. They emphasized that since the beginning, Baldoni’s team seemed to be keen on getting Swift involved, which feels opportunistic.

Adding to the narrative, the claim is made that this entire effort boils down to misdirection and avoidance of more serious accusations facing Baldoni and his associates.

Regarding Swift’s involvement in the film “It Ended Us,” her representative clarified that although one of her songs was licensed for use in the film, she had no direct engagement with the production process.

As the legal battle between Baldoni and Lively heads toward a trial set for March 2026 in New York, the focus continues to shift, especially with Swift recently seen at a sports game with her partner, Travis Kelce, drawing media attention away from the ongoing lawsuit.
