Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with the Indian Ocean nation’s Foreign Minister Mousa Zamir on Tuesday, despite the country’s ban on Israelis entering the country in an attempt to exclude Israeli Jews.
As reported by Breitbart News, the Maldives tried to ban Israelis from entering the country earlier this month.
The move is the latest in the hostile attitude shown by Islamic countries towards Israel in opposition to the operation to neutralise Hamas following its incursions into Israeli territory. On October 7, thousands of Hamas terrorists entered Israel and committed numerous atrocities, including the massacre of entire families, documented torture and gang rapes, mutilation and desecration of corpses, some of which were filmed for entertainment purposes.

President Muiz of the Maldives’ office Announced On Sunday, the president announced that he had “decided to ban the issuance of Israeli passports.”
But as Breitbart News reported last week, the Maldives realized that the ban would affect them as well, since 20 percent of Israelis are Arab. The ban was apparently aimed solely at Israeli Jews, but is now being adjusted.
None of that was apparently discussed during Secretary of State Blinken’s meeting with the Maldivian foreign minister. reportIn a statement, the company blamed spokesman Matthew Miller for the incident.
Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Maldives’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zamir today in Washington, DC. Secretary Blinken reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to partner with the Maldives to advance a free, open, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. The Secretary of State highlighted the United States’ donation of eight patrol vessels to the Maldives and, in coordination with Congress, will provide $2 million in hydrographic survey assistance to mitigate the effects of rising sea levels in the Maldives. The Secretary of State and the Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed further opportunities to strengthen cooperation on addressing the climate crisis, economic growth, maritime security, and other bilateral priorities.
Blinken also posted a photo of his meeting with Zamir on X with a positive message, without mentioning the ban on Israelis entering the country.

Israeli government spokesman David Mensah declined to comment on the meeting with Blinken on Wednesday, but said the Maldives’ “outrageous expulsion of Jews” had led Europe to “JewThat means there are no Jews.
