Blood Discovered in the Home of Savannah Guthrie’s Missing Mother

Concerns Grow Over Missing Tucson Woman

Authorities in Tucson, Arizona, have discovered blood stains inside the home of Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year-old woman who has been missing since about 9:45 p.m. Saturday night.

Guthrie, who is the mother of NBC’s today show presenter Savannah Guthrie, is not showing signs of cognitive decline. However, police are now categorizing her disappearance as a potential crime, suggesting that she may have been forcibly removed from her home late at night.

She was reported missing Sunday morning after her family noticed she hadn’t arrived at church. Concerned, they went to check on her.

In a troubling development, law enforcement noted signs of forced entry into the home. It was also reported that Guthrie’s wallet, cell phone, and other personal belongings were left behind, which is unusual.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating that Guthrie needs daily medication, and missing it could be life-threatening.

“There’s an actual crime scene here,” Nanos asserted. “She didn’t leave on her own. Her mobility is quite limited.” The investigators are considering the likelihood that she may have been taken from her residence against her will.

On Monday, Savannah Guthrie turned to her Instagram followers, asking for prayers for her mother’s safe return. She expressed a belief in the power of prayer and community support, emphasizing her mother’s deep faith and good nature.

Police revealed that surveillance cameras were installed outside Guthrie’s residence and are now requesting that neighbors provide access to any related doorbell or surveillance footage.

Currently, Savannah Guthrie is in Arizona and has reportedly stepped away from NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage. As of now, there are no ransom demands reported, and police have been conducting thorough searches in the area.

The situation must be incredibly distressing for the Guthrie family. An organization called 88-CRIME is collaborating with authorities to offer a $2,500 reward for information that could help in locating Nancy Guthrie.
