”Blue Bloods' co-stars, including stars Donnie Wahlberg and Tom Selleck, struggled to finish filming the show's final dinner scene.
In a new interview with entertainment weekly, Wahlberg shared an emotional experience the last time they worked together.
“During the finale, we were all walking a really delicate tightrope. We knew this was the last episode and we were so emotional every day,” he said.
The 55-year-old boy band star turned actor felt the finale could be emotional for the show's loyal viewers as well. He said the final dinner scene between NYPD officers and the families of Selleck's detectives may leave fans as tearful as the cast.
“Maybe I'm sitting there struggling with my emotions because it's the final episode,” he said. “We definitely went to work every day knowing this was the final episode and tried to hold back the tears and emotions, and I'm sure our viewers will do the same.”
CBS will air the final episode of “Blue Bloods” on Friday, December 13th.

Mr. Wahlberg spoke after Mr. Selleck, but said he “could hardly get a word out.”
“I don't know the exact words, but I just want to say how much my crew means to me and even though it was a really difficult time for all of us to say goodbye, I'm just encouraging them. “I think we really tried to convey that, 'Remember how lucky we all are to be a part of this,'” he said. “If there's anything that makes it okay for such a special occasion to end, it's definitely the fact that I even had the opportunity to be a part of something so special in the first place. I think that's where the effort was, “Go,'' and that's how I try to approach it every day. ”
