New York City police are investigating the death of a 64-year-old paramedic who was found dead in an ambulance on Monday.
The New York City Police Department said Peter was found inside a Marquis Ambulette bus parked on a side street in the Castle Hill Park neighborhood near Barrett Avenue in the Bronx after someone called 911 around 10:30 a.m. Monday. Forrest was found by paramedics. Police said the ambulance had been abandoned in the area for some time.
Forrest was found face down in a pool of blood on the floor of the ambulance. The New York Post reported.

Police later identified the man as Forrest, a Bronx resident employed by a private ambulance company. Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene and had “trauma to his body,” including injuries to his head and face, requiring further investigation.

According to the NYPD, Forrest's death is being investigated as a homicide, but the medical examiner has not yet determined his cause of death.

As of Wednesday morning, no arrests had been made in connection with the death of the civilian paramedic.
A representative for Marquis Ambulette confirmed that Forrest was an employee of the company and that Marquis was cooperating with police on Wednesday morning, but declined to comment further.
