Blue Jays bounce back to tie World Series following long Game 3

World Series Tied at Two Games Each

The best-of-seven World Series is currently tied after each team has won two games.

The Toronto Blue Jays came back strong last night, defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers with a score of 6-2 in Game 4, just one day after the thrilling 18-inning game. Toronto’s offense, led by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette, really took off after a tough match on Monday.

Initially, the Dodgers took the lead thanks to a sacrifice fly from Enrique Hernandez. Yet, a two-run homer from Guerrero Jr. in the third inning shifted the momentum firmly toward Toronto.

Interestingly, the Blue Jays’ resurgence came shortly after iconic country singer Brad Paisley dubbed himself “Mr. More Baseball,” performing the national anthem right before the lengthy Game 3. The Dodgers had claimed that match 6-5, with Freddie Freeman hitting a game-winning home run just hours after Paisley’s performance.

Shohei Ohtani, a standout player for the Dodgers this postseason, started Game 4. He pitched six innings, giving up four earned runs while striking out six. The night before, he had made history by being the first player since 1906 to record four extra-base hits and reach base nine times in a World Series game, tying the Series record.

Bichette then bolstered Toronto’s lead with a two-RBI single in the seventh inning. The Blue Jays sealed the victory with Shane Bieber on the mound, allowing just one run over 5 1/3 innings. Ohtani, unfortunately, didn’t have a great outing this time around.

The Dodgers called on three relief pitchers after Ohtani left, while the Blue Jays needed four pitchers to finish the ninth inning and secure their win.

Looking ahead, Game 5 is set for Wednesday at 8 PM ET on FOX, before the series shifts back to Toronto for Game 6.
