Blue Jays’ contract offer to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. revealed

The Toronto Blue Jays offered superstar baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. about $500 million before negotiations halted last month, but the significant deferral estimates the actual net current value of the offer between $400 million and $450 million.

These numbers represent the range the Blue Jays are willing to debate, and thus detail where the issue stood before the negotiations were stopped before the 18th of the Jays' first full-squad training, as Guerrero's camp was promised.

The Jays had offered to make Guerrero the third-highest paid player in the game. Mets superstar Juan Soto's record of $765 million and $855 million, worth between $440 million in a massively postponed $700 million deal for the Dodgers' two-way superstar Otani.

Guerrero hit Free Agency Young (who turns 26 on Sunday) but last month reaffirmed that the Jays' offer wasn't close to what he wanted. He later told ESPN Deportes' Enrique Rojas that he offered to sign with Toronto for less than $600 million. This said it would be more than $100 million in terms of actual value, assuming Guerrero's demands are somewhat close to that $600 million. Guerrero wants to get a very long deal like Soto's, but acknowledges that Soto's unparalleled consistency makes the new Met quite worth it.
