Blythe Danner leaves Hamptons charity event in ambulance, Gwyneth Paltrow says mom is ‘fine’

Gwyneth Paltrow’s mother, Blythe Danner, is now doing well after suffering a health crisis while at a charity event in the Hamptons.

The “Butterflies Are Free” actress, 81, was taken in an ambulance from Springs Food Pantry’s “EAT in the Hidden Gardens 2024” event at the Corbett Estate in East Hampton, New York, on Saturday. a source told People magazine.

“It was early on in the incident and she sat there for a while whilst their vital signs were taken,” the source said, adding: “She didn’t seem too bad but they took her away anyway.”

A rep for Paltrow’s lifestyle brand, Goop, assured the outlet that Danner is “totally fine.”

Page Six has reached out to both mother and daughter for comment.

The following day, Paltrow, 51, looked in high spirits as she hit the dance floor at Montauk’s Surf Lodge during an intimate performance by pal Kate Hudson.

Danner was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma, a rare type of cancer, in 2018.

“It’s a nasty disease, but I’m doing well now, and I’m lucky to be alive,” she told People magazine in 2022.

The “Meet the Parents” star had the same type of cancer that her husband, Bruce Paltrow, was diagnosed with before his death in 2002. He was 58 years old.

“Everyone is touched by cancer in some way, but it’s unusual for a husband and wife to be affected by the same cancer,” Danner says.

After receiving the diagnosis, Danner said, “I looked up to heaven and said to Bruce, ‘Are you lonely up there?'”

In 2022, Gwyneth said her mother was “truly one of the strongest people I know” after Danner underwent three surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

“If I had a similar experience, I would want to be like her,” she says. He told people 2022.

“She got through it so gracefully. I was amazed at how strong she stayed,” Gwyneth added.

Danner and the television and film director married in 1969 and had children Gwyneth in 1972 and son Jake in 1975.

The Broadway star has kept a low profile in recent years, but was spotted strolling around New York City with Jake in June 2023.

A month later, Danner attended Gwyneth’s Goop event in the Hamptons with her granddaughter, Apple Martin.

Danner is a devoted grandmother and was seen attending her grandson Moses’ high school graduation in May.
