Bo Bice trades his signature rocker look for a new image as fans share their thoughts

Bo Bice has swapped his signature long hair for a much shorter style, and fans have had mixed reactions.

The former American Idol runner-up showed off the change on Instagram, pairing his new haircut with sunglasses, layered necklaces and an open patterned shirt. Some commenters weren’t sold on the look. One suggested he lose the necklaces and button up; another said they disliked the makeover but still enjoyed hearing him sing.

Bice seemed pleased with the change, sharing a side-by-side “Then and Now” image and joking in the caption, “Well, well, Tinkerbell… Who’s THAT guy?!” The graphic described him as “A BRAND NEW MAN” and said he was “RESURRECTED 2027.”

Other fans were more enthusiastic, welcoming him back and saying he looked good both before and after the makeover. One supporter said they had cheered him on during American Idol and were still rooting for him now.

Bice also hinted that new music may be on the way after a two-year break. He reflected on the time away, noting that he hadn’t released music since “Born of Heroes Blood,” which he said received recognition from the Hollywood Independent Music Awards.

“Here’s a blast from my past and a glimpse into my future with a new life, new style, but the same southern soul,” he wrote. “I’m here to offer you a #BRANDNEWMAN!”

Bice became widely known during American Idol’s fourth season in 2005, finishing second to Carrie Underwood. His gritty voice, Southern rock sound and long hair made him one of the season’s most recognizable contestants.
