Watching her husband’s team make a remarkable comeback, Izzy Nix felt the jitters as the Broncos triumphed over the Giants 33-32 on Sunday.
The Broncos managed to break a three-quarter silence, unleashing 33 points in the final quarter after the Giants had already secured four touchdowns. This thrilling win took place at Empower Field at Mile High.
Izzy shared her experience on social media, joking, “My eyes may or may not have been closed.” She highlighted Bo Nix’s unique achievement as the first player in NFL history to score both two rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns in a single quarter.
Recently married in July 2022, the couple also revealed earlier this month that they’re expecting their first child.
They met back in their Auburn days, where Nix played quarterback from 2019 to 2021 before shifting to Oregon. Izzy was part of the cheerleading squad for the Tigers.
After the game, Izzy posted a snapshot of them celebrating on the field, accompanied by The Script’s “Breakeven,” particularly resonating with the lyrics, “I’m still alive, but I’m barely breathing.”
She expressed her excitement with, “Let’s go Broncos!!!!!”
Bo Nix, drafted 12th overall by Denver in 2024, showcased his skills during this nail-biting game against the Giants.
He completed a crucial 29-yard pass to Marvin Mims Jr., followed by a 22-yard gain from Courtland Sutton, ultimately leading to Will Lutz’s 39-yard field goal that clinched their fourth consecutive win.
In disbelief over the fourth-quarter scoring spree, Nix commented, “I don’t even know how we got 33 points in one quarter. It’s kind of insane… whatever we had to do, we did it…by any means necessary.”
He also had a word for those fans who left early, saying, “I feel sorry for those who left early.”
This remarkable fourth-quarter performance set a new NFL record for the most points scored following three scoreless quarters.
The Broncos, now holding a 5-2 record, are set to face the Cowboys (3-3-1) next Sunday in Denver.
