Authorities reported the discovery of a man’s body in Los Angeles on Tuesday. This incident occurred amidst chaos, as looters targeted businesses during protests against ICE.
Police received a call around 1:30 AM about the body found on the sidewalks near the intersection of West 3rd Street and Broadway. The man hasn’t been identified yet, and officials are conducting an investigation.
It’s uncertain if the man’s death is connected to the recent riots aimed at obstructing ICE agents from apprehending undocumented immigrants.
Reports indicate that the T-Mobile store is in close proximity to where the body was located. Police have assessed the scene and noted that the man was seen wearing a red sweatshirt.
During the protests against ICE, rioters reportedly looted nearby stores, with some seen stealing shoe boxes, according to information from Breitbart News.
Footage showed looters hastily fleeing the scene, while officers attempted to apprehend them. A local reporter noted the situation, saying that what was supposed to be a protest had devolved into sheer plundering, with break-ins at stores like Apple and Adidas.
A woman whose business was severely impacted by the looting described the experience as “terrifying,” lamenting that a year’s worth of work was essentially lost.
In response to the unrest, President Trump, advocating for law and order, has authorized the deployment of additional National Guard troops to Los Angeles. In a post on social media, he criticized state officials for their handling of the riots and other crises affecting the area this year, asserting that without his intervention, the city would be facing more significant destruction.
