Bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman admitted to the hospital due to a serious health issue

Bodybuilding icon Ronnie Coleman was hospitalized over the weekend due to “severe medical conditions.” However, his family mentioned he’s demonstrating “incredible strength and resilience” in a recent update.

Coleman revealed some health concerns in a post on Sunday, mentioning a “medical emergency” and that he wouldn’t be attending events in the UK.

While the specifics of his condition remain unclear, an update shared on Monday stated that, “We are currently receiving professional medical care and continue to show incredible strength and resilience.”

The family emphasized their focus on Ronnie’s recovery and happiness, asking for understanding and support while urging respect for their privacy. They avoided elaborating on the situation, mentioning, “Ronnie has always inspired the world with his toughness and heart, and he feels that love and energy are being sent down his path.”

They encouraged fans to rely solely on official statements from the family, reassuring that they would provide relevant information when appropriate.

In his Sunday post, the 61-year-old managed to maintain an optimistic tone, assuring fans not to worry and expressing confidence that he was in “great hands.” He conveyed, “I’m staying strong through it all. I can’t come back more than ever and wait to get out there and see everything about you as soon as I go!”

Coleman is an eight-time Olympia winner and is regarded as one of the strongest champions of the event.

He was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame in 2016 and received the Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021. Originally from Louisiana, Coleman was the focus of the 2018 Netflix documentary “Ronnie Coleman: The King.”
